Seventeen executives won honors Friday at a luncheon to recognize the Sacramento region's top chief financial officers.

The annual awards event recognizes financial executives who distinguished themselves by helping their companies grow — or to make the best of trying circumstances. Nearly 350 business leaders attended the event, featuring a keynote address by downtown arena developer Mark Friedman[1], at the Sheraton Grand.

Judges’ Choice awards went to Tina Cruce[2], CFO of Tim Lewis[3] Communities, and Leyne Milstein[4], director of finance for the city of Sacramento.

Other awards went to executives with companies in four categories.

Small private company: James Kim[5], CFO of Community 1st Bank[6]. Also honored were Darla Colson[7], CFO of Gilbert Associates Inc., and Andrew Murbach[8], CFO of TRI Commercial/CORFAC International.

Medium private company: Jeffrey Grubbs[9], CFO of Bickmore[10]. Also honored were Michael Foos[11], CFO of Kids Care Dental Group, and Kathleen Thompson[12], vice president of finance for Retail Pro International LLC.

Large private company: Mark Morrow[13], CFO of RagingWire Data Centers[14]. Also honored were Dan Johns[15], CFO of Holt of California, and George Lenzi[16], CFO of Radiological Associates of Sacramento[17].

Small nonprofit/public agency: Tonja Fontes[18], CFO of California Association of Health Facilities. Also honored were Gil Alvarado[19], CFO of Sierra Health Foundation[20], and Deena Spann[21], director of accounting for Koinonia Family Services Inc.

Large nonprofit/public agency: Rhonda McFarlane[22], CFO of Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. Also honored were Connie Schulze[23], CFO of Goodwill Industries Sacramento Valley/Northern Nevada, and Mark Vincenzini[24], CFO of CALSTAR.
