Man placed by temp agency charged in TSYS identity theft

U.S. District Court records say a worker placed at Paragon Benefits, Inc., by a temporary staffing agency, sent personal information from more than 5,200 TSYS employees to his personal Gmail account, reports the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer.[1]
Drew Johnson[2], 26, of Columbus was arrested Friday and charged with felony identity theft, the paper reports.
Court records show Johnson started work on Sept. 3, 2013, at Paragon Benefits, a company that administers health benefits for Columbus-based credit-card and payment processor TSYS (NYSE: TSS), and Kelley Manufacturing Co. in Tifton. A week later, a Paragon employee noted that Johnson appeared to be spending more time typing on his computer than the job required of a new employee, the Ledger-Enquirer says.
An information technology analyst found that Johnson sent two emails from his Paragon email to a personal Google Gmail account. The emails included an attached spreadsheet.
Information included the employee names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and home addresses. At the time, Johnson had access to the files but had no professional reason to visit the information, the paper said.
