Barneys’ new credit perks might make you feel like a 1-percenter

Upscale retailer Barneys New York is introducing a new credit card program with enhanced benefits for cardmembers and a new “Influencer” tier that includes luxury access and incentives, such as chauffer services, for an exclusive group of top customers.
The new program expands on the company’s reward points program, My Barneys Bag, Barneys[1] said. Cardmembers receive exclusive benefits including complimentary valet, wine, shipping and in-store beauty and skin care treatments, as well as alterations credits, a dedicated phone number for personal shopping and exclusive access to Barneys New York online and in-store events.
The retailer said the Influencer tier represents a group of “important Barneys New York customers” who will be given exclusive access and incentives through the enhanced program. Influencers will receive a new sleek black metal credit card with a special Influencer icon and a host of new premium benefits offered through exclusive partnerships with other companies.
Those benefits include complimentary Unlimited Leaders Club membership for The Leading Hotels of the World, a three-night complimentary stay and membership discount with Exclusive Resorts, as well as travel credits and preferred rates with EmpireCLSWorldwide Chauffeured Services.
Influencer benefits also will include a VIP phone reservation line offering preferred reservations to Fred's at Barneys New York’s Madison Avenue flagship. They also will receive complimentary dessert with dinner, and waived site fees for private event bookings.
